We like ours not too fizzy and not too flat. We put the powder in a glass, add four to six ounces of water, let it fizz up, let it fizz down, and then drink it up. Some folks like to put the powder in a glass, add water, stir, and then drink it down.

Is aspartic acid the same as aspartame?

No, aspartame is a chemically formed sugar substitute that bonds L-phenylalanine to aspartic acid. On the other hand, the aspartic acid which we use in Emergen-C, is an amino acid readily found in foods such as fish, legumes, dairy, whole grains, eggs, meats, nuts, and seeds. We use this pure L-Aspartic Acid which has the same structure as that found in foods.

Why did the Supplement/Nutrition Facts label change on my Emergen-C product?

The Food and Drug Administration issued a revision for nutrition and supplement fact labels to reflect current dietary recommendations and to assist consumers in maintaining healthy dietary practices. Emergen-C, as well as any product with an FDA nutritional label, must comply with these changes.

Why do some cartons have the old Supplement/Nutrition Facts label and others have the updated label?

We have started to transition to the new label in 2018, however, you may still see some Emergen-C products with the previous Supplement/Nutrition Facts panels.

Is Emergen-C available in recyclable or bulk packaging?

Our Emergen-C vitamin drink mix is moisture-sensitive and effervescent, so individual airtight packages are necessary to keep the powder dry inside. Consequently, we are not able to offer bulk packaging. All Emergen-C boxes are recyclable, however.

How much Sodium is there in Emergen-C? And is it a safe amount?

Emergen-C is dietary supplement that is both low in sodium and can fit as part of a healthy everyday diet. Sodium levels vary by formula and range between 30 mg to 110 mg, or 1% to 5% of recommended daily value. Most Emergen-C formulas are between 60 mg to 70 mg, or approximately 3% of recommended daily value. Sodium levels are indicated within the Supplement/Nutrition Facts panel of label.
