  • What is the best way to mix up a packet of Emergen-C?

    We like ours not too fizzy and not too flat. We put the powder in a glass, add four to six ounces of water, let it fizz up, let it fizz down, and then drink it up. Some folks like to put the powder in a glass, add water, stir, and then drink it down.

  • What efforts are you making to help our environment?

    We reduced the size of our boxes by 6%, which results in less manufacturing, less shipping, and less paper waste. They are also printed using bio-renewable, solvent-free, vegetable-based inks to help keep chemicals out of the environment, and they are 100% recyclable. To top it all off, our new smaller boxes are FSC certified.

  • Where are your products manufactured?

    Emergenc-C products are manufactured in the U.S.A. and Italy.

  • Can I take Emergen-C with my medications?

    As with all supplements, please consult with your health professional before taking Emergen-C with medications.

  • Do your products contain MSG?

    No, our products do not contain MSG.

  • Are your products free of Gluten?

    All EMC products are gluten free. We adhere to the FDA’s regulation for a gluten free claim. Our products have been tested by an independent third party laboratory that has verified our products to be under 20 parts per millions of gluten and therefore meeting the definition of gluten free.

  • Are your products certified as non-GMO?

    Currently, our Emergen-C products are not certified as non-GMO. We cannot guarantee that all of our raw materials are sourced from non-GMO ingredients and do not currently have this requirement in place for our vendors. However, Emergen-C Hydration+ and Replenisher products are verified as non-GMO. For more information on our non-GMO standard, please visit emergenc.com.

  • Is aspartic acid the same as aspartame?

    No, aspartame is a chemically formed sugar substitute that bonds L-phenylalanine to aspartic acid. On the other hand, the aspartic acid which we use in Emergen-C, is an amino acid readily found in foods such as fish, legumes, dairy, whole grains, eggs, meats, nuts, and seeds. We use this pure L-Aspartic Acid which has the same structure as that found in foods.

  • Why did the Supplement/Nutrition Facts label change on my Emergen-C product?

    The Food and Drug Administration issued a revision for nutrition and supplement fact labels to reflect current dietary recommendations and to assist consumers in maintaining healthy dietary practices. Emergen-C, as well as any product with an FDA nutritional label, must comply with these changes.

  • Why do some cartons have the old Supplement/Nutrition Facts label and others have the updated label?

    We have started to transition to the new label in 2018, however, you may still see some Emergen-C products with the previous Supplement/Nutrition Facts panels.  

  • Is Emergen-C available in recyclable or bulk packaging?

    Our Emergen-C vitamin drink mix is moisture-sensitive and effervescent, so individual airtight packages are necessary to keep the powder dry inside. Consequently, we are not able to offer bulk packaging. All Emergen-C boxes are recyclable, however.

  • How much Sodium is there in Emergen-C? And is it a safe amount?

    Emergen-C is dietary supplement that is both low in sodium and can fit as part of a healthy everyday diet. Sodium levels vary by formula and range between 30 mg to 110 mg, or 1% to 5% of recommended daily value. Most Emergen-C formulas are between 60 mg to 70 mg, or approximately 3% of recommended daily value. Sodium levels are indicated within the Supplement/Nutrition Facts panel of label.

  • Can I take Emergen-C while pregnant or nursing?

    As with all supplements, we recommend that you consult your health professional before use.

  • Is the fructose in Emergen-C from high fructose corn syrup?

    No, we use purified fructose.

  • Did the ingredients change in my product?

    Neither the ingredients nor the formula changed in the product. The only change is how we must list certain nutrients and daily values in the facts box on the label and packaging.

  • What information changed on the label?

    The key changes are updated references of the percent daily value (%DV), some units of measure have changed (mg or mcg instead of IU) and the mandatory declaration of added sugars with a Daily Value.

  • Do you use artificial dyes to color Emergen-C?

    We do not use FD&C dyes to color our products. We use beta-carotene, caramel color or fruit and vegetable juice concentrates to color our products.
