You’ve got questions, we’ve got answers! And the ones asked most often (maybe that’s why they call them FAQs) are listed below.

WHAT ARE THE AGE RECOMMENDATIONS FOR EMERGEN-C® VITAMIN FIZZY DRINK MIX PRODUCTS?

Emergen-C Kidz™ Complete Multi-Vitamin & Multi-Mineral Supplements are for children ages 2 and older. Directions for use are as follows:
  • Ages 2 & 3: Mix half a packet daily with 2-4 oz of water
  • Ages 4 & up: Mix one packet daily with 4-6 oz of water
All other Emergen-C drink mix products are for adults 15 years of age and older.

WHAT DO YOU DO TO ASSURE THE QUALITY AND SAFETY OF YOUR INGREDIENTS? We test 100% of our incoming raw materials to confirm that what we received is what we ordered. We use very sophisticated laboratory equipment that takes a near infra red fingerprint of all incoming raw materials, and it compares that fingerprint to our approved raw materials library. If it does not match, the ingredient is rejected.

DO YOUR PRODUCTS CONTAIN GLUTEN? All Emergen-C products are free of gluten from wheat, oats, rye, and barley.

IS EMERGEN-C AVAILABLE IN BULK OR RECYCLABLE PACKAGING? Emergen-C is moisture-sensitive and effervescent, so individual airtight packages are necessary to keep the powder inside dry. Consequently, we are not able to offer bulk packaging. All Emergen-C boxes are fully recyclable and come from sustainable sources.

IS THE FRUCTOSE IN EMERGEN-C FROM HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP? No, we use purified fructose.

IS ASPARTIC ACID THE SAME AS ASPARTAME? No, aspartame is a sugar substitute whereas aspartic acid is an amino acid readily found in protein foods such as fish, legumes, dairy, whole grains, eggs, meats, nuts, and seeds.

DO YOUR PRODUCTS CONTAIN MSG? No, neither Alacer nor our suppliers add or use MSG. Alacer uses natural fruit flavors that are of such high quality they do not require the use of MSG to enhance their flavor.

DO YOU USE ARTIFICIAL DYES TO COLOR EMERGEN-C? No, we use natural ingredients to color Emergen-C, such as vegetable juice color, natural beet color, etc.

WHAT IS THE SOURCE OF THE BERMUDA TRIANGLE’S AWESOME POWER? The energizing B vitamins in Emergen-C, of course!

IS EMERGEN-C BUFFERED? Yes, Emergen-C is buffered with seven different minerals.

WHICH OF YOUR PRODUCTS CONTAIN ANIMAL DERIVATIVES?
  • Joint Health contains chondroitin which is bovine-derived. As of March 2009, Joint Health is shellfish-free. Boxes manufactured prior to March 2009 contain glucosamine which is shellfish-derived.
  • Pink Lemonade & Immune Defense contain honey derived from beeswax.
  • Bone Health and Multi-Vitamin products Orange Pineapple Explosion, Strawnanaberry Blast, Cherry Yumberry, Apricot Mango, and Cherry Pomegranate contain Vitamin D3 which is derived from lanolin which is from wool.
  • ALERT! Shots and Powder contain CoQ10 which contains casein sodium from milk.
IS IT SAFE TO TAKE EMERGEN-C WHILE PREGNANT OR NURSING? As with all supplements, we recommend that you consult your health professional before use.

CAN I TAKE EMERGEN-C WITH MY MEDICATIONS? Ditto. Please consult with your health professional before taking Emergen-C with medications.

CAN I DRINK EMERGEN-C HOT? Yes, you can drink Emergen-C hot. Just remember that the hotter the water the “fizzier” the reaction will be when you pour in the Emergen-C. So take care, because while with Emergen-C you can “Feel the Good®,” we don’t want you feeling the good while mixing (if you get our drift).

IS EMERGEN-C KOSHER CERTIFIFED? No, Emergen-C is not Kosher Certified.
